Robert Broussard Landry (1909-2000) was born in Louisiana. In 1932 he graduated from the U.S. Military Academy and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. In 1935 he became a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps, and from 1942 to 1945 served with the Eighth U.S. Air Force in Great Britain (World War II).
